Topaz dropped gaia v6 for some reason, but the ai files for gaia-6 are still downloadable as far as i know. I am also still playing around with gaia-hq-6.json what came with any beta version before and i cant tell the difference but gaia v6 results look kinda smother than gaia-5. From v2.0.02 beta there is one models folder for every version. I remember until v2 VEAI used the same models folder in the users profile for ALL versions installed. I am doing this since the 2.0xx models are newer, but i did not like the new v2 gui at first glance. I am not sure why you feel entitled to educate me here, when you seem not to grasp the basic concept of what I am doing.Īll I asked was Topaz Labs to add some information to their product site and two users felt the need to tell me that they think I am an idiot because of the way I am operating my company. But there are offline installers, while Topaz Labs also fails to mention that you need some internet connection for validation… You also seem to have a hard time to understand that I am not using the internet from those workstations, but still do have access to the internet from other computer systems not on the same network.Īnd no, I am not running VEAI on those Win 7 machines, well because as I wrote it does not start there. While your imagination might not be able to comprehend a reason why there are workstations without internet access, you just have to accept that this is not unusual in the business I am in. Why you are bringing the argument with your sql servers is beyond me - my workstations are graphic workstations doing editing, post productions and all that stuff. I have NOT COMPLAINED about the lack of support, I gave feedback to ADD THIS INFORMATION to the product website and not hiding it somewhere in the FAQs. Seems that didn’t help you to understand it.īut anyway, I explain it to you too - again sigh: In my earlier post I even made the relevant part of my answer bold. We really need something with good compression and good quality. From here it looks like you did not care enough to read what I wrote but to post a lengthy answer were you got everything wrong. For everything else it would be overkill. And propres for people with extra disk space or important commercial projects. I don’t like Prores because its eating up disk space like crazy, but I would like to see that as an option next to something that is good quality and good compression like Av1 or H265. Ĭisco’s Thor development was started in response to HEVC being perceived as unviable for use in open source and freely distributed products, but the work of Google and Mozilla (previously under Xiph) on royalty-free video predates this event and is not attributed to HEVC’s licensing woes, although also seen as a problem by Mozilla" Industry observers found one of the most compelling features of AV1 to be its royalty-free licensing model, unlike existing technologies such as HEVC that require royalty payments and prevent widespread adoption in open-source projects. In 2018 Facebook testing that approximates real world conditions, AV1 achieved 34%, 46.2% and 50.3% higher data compression than libvpx-vp9, x264 high profile, and x264 main profile respectively. The AV1 bitstream specification includes a reference video codec. It was developed as a successor to VP9 by the Alliance for Open Media (AOMedia), a consortium founded in 2015 that includes semiconductor firms, video on demand providers, video content producers, software development companies and web browser vendors. " AOMedia Video 1 ( AV1 ) is an open, royalty-free video coding format designed for video transmissions over the Internet. h265 and if that is a problem because of license maybe something like the new standard being proposed Av1. Anything but H264, or H263 we need something better.
